Who Fika Is Now
From bridges → to rural access systems.
Fika has evolved from a bridge-building implementer into a systems catalyst for safe, reliable rural transport access, supporting governments to plan, finance, deliver, and sustain national rural access networks. This includes bridges plus complementary infrastructure (paths, road improvements, climate-smart features) that reduce travel time and connect people to schools, health care, and markets.
New identity: Fika means “to arrive” (safely).

The Challenge We’re Solving
Over 1 billion rural people remain physically isolated from essential services. Three system barriers prevent scale:
- Prioritization: Rural access is absent from policy and development frameworks.
- Funding: Financing favors large, urban infrastructure; governments lack viable funding pathways.
- Capacity: Public and private actors lack tools, data, and technical resources to own delivery.
Fika’s strategy addresses all three simultaneously.
